Let us therefore look at some plants that we can grow quickly and get to enjoy them before running out of patience. Some of them can even make is some quick money if we are willing to go that route.

Watercrest

This plant is a super nutritious micro green that will only take 14 days to grow. It is very similar to the garden cress but has significantly wider leaves. This is great for your salads just like lettuce or cabbage.

Garden Cress

This will take only 14 days to grow. How wonderful, only two weeks and your vegetable ready to be harvested. This herb will require very little space to give you a large amount. It seems like the seeds can never be too close to each other when growing.

Radishes

This vegetable will take 21 days to be ready for harvest. It prefers soil that is about 50 to 65 degree Fahrenheit and the seeds start shooting above the soil three to four days after being sown.

Green Onions AKA Scallions

This awesome herb will take just 21 days to grow. Once the green section of the stems reaches about six inches they can be cut and will be ready to cut again in another three weeks. this is pretty awesome as you can just keep going back to that one plant time after time.

Tatsoi

This vegetable will take 25 days to be ready for harvesting. This will make a wonderful addition to salads and soups. If you prefer you could wait a full forty days for the leaves to be fully grown. Whether or not you will have vegetables ready to eat as soon as the leaves reach 4 inches in length.

Lettuce

This vegetable will take 30 days to be ready. That’s only the amount of time some of us wait to get payed. Just imagine if you start a lettuce business, you would be getting paid so often that you would not even be able to handle it. If you want to get a continuous harvest just plant new seeds every 14 days.

Spinach

Spinach will take 30 days to grow. This nutritious leafy green can survive in temperatures as low as 15 degrees fahrenheit so you could get planting as soon as the snow has melted. Harvest older spinach leaves as soon as possible as the more matured leaves will get bitter it they stay on the tree.

Arugula

These will take 30 days to be ready. Get ready to have a culinary expo with this one. Use it in soups , pastas, pesto, pizza and a whole lot more. This plant also loves cool climate so get it in the soil as soon as the soil can be worked.

Kale

This amazing nutritious plant can be ready to eat in just 30 days. This is a cut and regrow vegetable one so it will continue to give you harvest over and over again but avoid cutting the central bud as you will in that case destroy the source of regrowth.

Swiss chard

This plant will be ready in 45 days. Though it may take a little more time than the others, it is still a quick enough grower and for its nutritional benefits you will be so happy when it is ready . Harvest leaves from the outer parts and use them in your salads, soups and so on.

If you have any of these in excess you could approach a local restaurant and see if they would buy from you. Just give them at a cheaper price than their regular suppliers and you may just have a long term relationship with that business… You’ll never know unless you try!

How To Make A Home Management Binder http://thechocolateconfidential.com/2018/06/how-to-make-a-home-management-binder/ http://thechocolateconfidential.com/2018/06/how-to-make-a-home-management-binder/#respond Thu, 28 Jun 2018 19:08:04 +0000 http://thechocolateconfidential.com/?p=34 Organization is the best way to have things done fast and in good order. For the purpose of properly managing ourselves at home we need to document things in an organized way so we do not make mistakes of forget to do the things that are necessary to be done. So a home management binder is perfect for keeping us on track with our everyday lives.

To organize your binder you may need some tab dividers – plastic ones are recommended. You can list the tabs in alphabetical order , order of popularity or however other way you choose. The best practice is to label each tab and make the labels readable at first glance. To achieve this you may paste labeled pieces of paper in a slightly overlapping manner running vertically  to the front section of the binder. The labels should be pasted on their specific tabs so that you can go to the page you want without searching.

To do lists:

This is normally placed at the very first section of the binder. Each night you can list the things to do the next day. Never begin a day without your “to-do list.”

The tabs below are listed in alphabetical order. You may place each tab in your binder in the order of priority.

Banking

Original Social Security cards,   important papers related to investments, retirement plans, bank accounts, and associated contact information, information on your outstanding debts, due dates, and contact information. Everything to do with banking- place them here.

Bills

Make a list of all the bills you have to pay. These could include; electricity bill, water bill, car insurance, credit card debts, subscription services such as netflix and so on. All bills in order of how they they are to be paid; weekly monthly, quarterly yearly and so on. One of your goal may be to pay off all debts. In such a case it may help to look at them regularly and devise hacks and smart plans to cut it down lower and lower until it is all paid off.

Budget

Making a decision before hand on how your money should be spent is the way to go. This is totally necessary if you are not super rich. Even the super rich does lots of budgeting. In this tab you should allocate money in terms of amount and the purpose it is to be used for. Savings, investment, charity, bills and so on.

Goals

Not everyone place goals in binders, but we believe that your goals are as real as anything else on the list. It is good to write down our goals in as much details as is possible so that when we look at them we will see into the reality of realizing those goals. List your goals in terms of short term (1 to 2 year), medium term (2 to 5 years), and long term (5 to 10 years). Read over your goals very often  to stay on track of achieving them.

Your goals may include; spiritual, financial, material, health and fitness, relationship and educational.

Calendar

Use this for scheduling dates for upcoming activities – vacations, camps, trips etc. Use it effectively so you do not have to miss out on any important appointment.

Cleaning

Make a list of all the rooms in the house and then list under each room the areas and things to be cleaned:

Bathroom= sink, shower door etc

Kitchen=counters, cabinets etc

Bedroom=floor, bedside table etc

Living Room= sofa, center table

Other Rooms– guest room, laundry room

Contact Information

Phone numbers, emails, home addresses, work addresses, work contacts, school contacts, all the possible contact details for everyone you know. Be a bit extreme with this one. It may be very helpful in times of need. Your identification cards should also be photocopied and placed here. If you should ever lose a purse or wallet, you should have everything that it contains already photocopied. You may also photocopy and place car documents too.

Grocery List/ Menu

Your grocery list is based on the meals you plan to cook for yourself and family. Have a page for your menus attached to the grocery list so you can refer to it when preparing to buy grocery. It can also help you to stay within budget.

Instruction Manuals

These are the little useful books that comes with your appliances, keep then together in this tab. They may come in handy sooner or later.

Insurance And Medical Documents

A list of family doctors, prescription medications, and contact information for all pharmacies you use Health insurance, life insurance, medical documents such as blood tests, urine tests, immunization records and so on.

Legal Documents

Sensitive information may be kept in this tab, for this reason some people keep this tab in the safety deposit box.

Copies of your important legal documents, including powers of attorney, living wills , and health care proxies. Birth certificates, school certificates, land titles, house titles, all car titles, marriage certificates, tax documents, passports, and so on. Anything with your name on it that prove ownership of something – place them all here also.

Maps

In this tab you could have pieces of paper or pages with directions to somewhere you have been but do not quite remember the directions. Or a map to a place you plan to go. Put it here so you do not have to look it up.

Warranties

This is especially good for your computers and electronics household items. Just in case anything happens to the item that is manufacturer’s fault. Place them here. You may also place receipts for those and other really valuable items here.

There may be other tabs that you might think of based on your individual or family needs. Feel free to add them and be relentless in your quest to be ORGANIZED!

One way to ensure sales is create the types of designs that sells most. Do your research and find out what people are loving. Do it with your own touch.

Make the most of Pallet Wood : Pallet wood is normally free, lots of different companies just pile them on the outside as dump. You may use them to make pallet wood dog houses, dog beds, cat houses, planters and so much more. Go on pinterest or youtube and find out how to use pallet wood to make whatever you want. Genius Ways To Use Borax http://thechocolateconfidential.com/2018/06/genius-ways-to-use-borax/ http://thechocolateconfidential.com/2018/06/genius-ways-to-use-borax/#respond Thu, 28 Jun 2018 18:45:15 +0000 http://thechocolateconfidential.com/?p=22 Try these genius ways to use Borax!

Borax For Fruit Trees

Did you know that you can sprinkle about one cup of borax around the root area of a full-sized apple tree (or a few tablespoons around a young tree) every 3-4 years? This will add boron, a trace mineral, to the soil. It is needed by plants for good cell wall growth and for fruit and seed development.

Amazing Stain Remover

Remove stains from stainless steel or porcelain sinks by make a paste with 1 cup borax and 1/4 cup lemon juice. Using a sponge or cloth, rub the stain with the paste. Rinse with warm water. It will be as if it was not even there.

Toilet Cleaning Solution

Clean your toilet by dissolving 1/2 cup of borax with 1 gallon of water. Scrub the toilet with a stiff brush, let it sit for 20 minutes then flush to rinse. This non-abrasive cleaner can also be used to clean the bathtub.

Keep Insects and Rodents Away

Borax is very effective at keeping cockroaches, ants, water bugs even rats and a few other household pests at bay. All you need to do is mix equal parts of borax with regular sugar. The sugar helps to draw the bugs in and the borax makes them sleep – permanently.

Do ensure that you do not leave the mixture out where pets or small children can reach it. It can be very harmful.

Good places are under stoves, refrigerators or sinks. These are areas that are normally infested the most anyway so they are good places to begin treating your home for pests. Borax also works well on mice. You just have to sprinkle it in areas where you think mice may be hiding and it will work wonders to get rid of them.

Cleaning Carpets and Mattress

You may also sprinkle borax on your carpets and vacuum to remove fleas or sprinkle on your mattress to rid your bed of bed bugs. Be sure to do this in the absence of young children and pets. Young children learn by tasting, pets seem to do the same at times – so you want to ensure that all of the borax is totally cleared before the little ones come testing.

Flower Preservative

If you have some beautiful fresh of certain types that you want to preserve in dried form, just do this – Mix one part borax with two parts cornmeal, and sprinkle the mixture into the bottom of a cardboard box. Place your flower(s) in the box, then sprinkle more of the borax and cornmeal mixture over the top. Do this in layers if needs be. Cover the box and let it sit for at least two weeks. This method will prevent the flowers from wilting and they will dry evenly.

Use In Candle Making

If you are a candle maker or you are interested in DIY candle making projects. Here is a trick to know. Soak the wicks in a solution of borax and salt. This will help to reduce the ash ans smoking that would normally occur when they are not soaked.

Use to Remove Rust

Make a paste using 1 cup of Borax with 2 cups of warm water and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. This does great to remove rust. If you have old pots and pans that are rusted, you can add this solution, just let them sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse and then just scrub the rust away. You can use it to remove rust from appliances and basically anything metal. If you find that the rust is a bit hard to get rid of, leave a second coating on to sit for another 15 to 20 minutes and it should lift right off with a scrubbing sponge.

All Purpose cleaner

Just make a solution of 2 cups of borax and 3 tablespoons of hot water in a spray bottle and use to wipe down your counters and sinks. It is also effective in getting rid of stains and harmful bacteria

Removes Adhesives

If you have any sticky, gooey mess on any surface, make a solution of 1 cup hot water and 2 tablespoons of borax. Rub it onto the area and the goo will be gone.

Unclogging Your  Drains

Unclog drains with 1/2 cup of borax followed by 2 cups of boiling water. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then run your water for a few minutes to flush out the borax and any remaining clogs.

The Best Essential Oils For Making Your Home Bug Free http://thechocolateconfidential.com/2018/06/essential-oils-to-get-rid-of-bugs/ http://thechocolateconfidential.com/2018/06/essential-oils-to-get-rid-of-bugs/#respond Thu, 28 Jun 2018 18:20:43 +0000 http://thechocolateconfidential.com/?p=16 Bugs are always around and for many reasons. As hard as it is to believe, they do serve good reasons that benefit us as humans in some way or another. But there are many bugs that ruin our everyday peace of mind, our crops, our garments and even sometimes our foods locked away in our pantry. Bugs sometimes find themselves in our beds, and they don’t just want to steal a little sleep and go- they come to stay permanently and if possible they fight us out of what we do own and take full control.

This battle causes some of to turn to chemical weapons called “PESTICIDES” which can turn out to be very harmful to us as humans.

In such a case, here are some non-chemical suggestions to rid our homes and gardens of bugs that bother us.

Essential Oils are concentrated forms of the plant they come from, many of these oils contain power properties that can destroy colonies of bugs and the best part is that

Orange oil

This is on the top of the list for a good reason. If you are thinking of organic pesticides then Orange essential oil is the best choice. It is so potent that it doesn’t just kill individual insects but it causes devastation on them in wiping out colonies and prevents re-infestation. There is a component in orange oil which is called D-limonene which is harmless to humans but lethal to most bugs or insects. It is so powerful that it melts the waxy outer coating on their exoskeleton causing dehydration and asphyxiation. How to use: Dilute the orange oil in water and place in a spray bottle. Because of the potency and effectiveness of this oil in killing bugs, you should be careful if using it in your garden as it can also kill some of the good garden bugs and the pollinators. So spray with caution.

Rosemary oil

This is an effective and robust repellant that will assist in keeping away many different insects such as Mosquitos, flies, and fleas. This oil is also great for hindering worms like the cabbage looper caterpillar whose voracious appetite for juicy vegetable foliage can easily destroy complete crops of fruit vegetables such as, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, and even some root vegetables if left uninterrupted.

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is very popular and has always been used to get rid of bugs and mites that infest the home especially bed bugs. The pungent aroma of this oil is unbearable to the mites so it automatically drives them away whenever it is present and it keeps them away.

How to use: Sprinkle a few drops across the corners of the bed frame and the mites and their eggs will be destroyed. But that’s not all, it will leave a pleasant smell that will appeal to you for days.

Peppermint oil

This is good for making a mosquito repellent and can keep away other flying insects. How to use: wet a piece of cloth or a cotton swab and spread the oil on windows, doors, and baseboards to keep the annoying insects at bay. They will not come near such a scent. It is also good for killing and warding off silverfish and love bugs.

Clove Essential Oil

This is a powerful oil that really works to ward off mosquitoes and silverfish. To make a skin repellent use 3 – 6 drops of clove essential oil in 1 Oz carrier oil.

Here is a list of bugs and the oils that makes them cry- or should I say make them stay far from your dwelling.

Ants: Peppermint, Spearmint

Mosquitoes: Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Thyme, Cinnamon, Rosemary, lavender, lemongrass

Flies: Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Melaleuca, Rosemary

Spider: Peppermint, Spearmint

Ticks: Oregano, Thyme

Fleas: Peppermint, Lemongrass, Spearmint

Cockroaches: Peppermint, Eucalyptus, tea tree oil

Snails: cedarwood, pine.

Beetles: peppermint, thyme

Aphids: Peppermint, Spearmint, Sandalwood

Silverfish: Clove, Peppermint

Love Bugs: Peppermint

These should be of some help to you as you try to make your home as bug free as possible.
